Huvitz Lens Edger AS – When lens Processing does net finish

Have you ever experienced incomplete processing when making glasses? If lens processing is not finished properly, it can lead to a situation where you cannot create the glasses your customers want. When running an optical shop, improper lens processing not only wastes time and costs but also reduces efficiency in your business, which can directly affect sales. Therefore, it’s important to resolve these issues quickly.

Why isn’t the lens processing finished?

Right Side – Contact Switch

The contact switch is a component in the Lens Edger that detects the position of the lens. In order for the Lens Edger to accurately process the lens, the lens must first be in the correct position. The contact switch detects this position and sends a signal to the equipment to ensure that the lens is in place. However, if the contact switch is not functioning properly due to dust or foreign particles, it may fail to detect the lens’s position accurately, leading to the phenomenon where the initial processing does not stop and continues.

When Processing Isn’t Completed

Super Simple Solution

When this happens, simply cleaning the contact switch to remove any debris can easily resolve the problem. All you need is a lens cloth or a soft fabric cloth!

First, open the edger cover and secure it so it does not close.

Second, use a flathead screwdriver to turn the Y-axis screw and lower it sufficiently.

Third: Gently lift the carriage section and secure it with an appropriately sized object to prevent it from falling.

Fourth: Locate the contact switch on the left side and use a soft cloth, like a lens cloth, to remove any dust.

Last: When lowering the carriage section, remove the object you used for support and gently cover it.

If the problem persists even after these steps, you may need assistance from a Huvitz expert. If the symptoms do not improve, please contact Huvitz, and we will help ensure your Lens Edger operates normally as soon as possible!
